Welcome to Our Team!
Caravus is pleased to introduce you to the newest member of our team – Ashley Morse!
Since April 2, Ashley has been an Individual Market Consultant-in-training. Working side-by-side with Caravus Individual Market Consultant, Katie Haug, she’s learning the ropes with enthusiasm.
“It’s a great new beginning,” Ashley said. “Everyone here has been welcoming and helpful. I’m learning so much and getting accustomed to it.”
Ashley is in the process of obtaining the necessary certifications required to be a licensed health care broker in both Missouri and Illinois. Katie knew from the start that Ashley would be a great addition to the Caravus team.
“From the first time I met her, I could tell that she would be able to interact well with our team and existing clients,” Katie said. “Finding a personable hire was extremely important for the new role because of the emphasis that Caravus puts on client service. As an entrepreneurial company, Ashley’s motivation and desire to learn quickly and take ownership in her new role were also crucial traits in being the right person for the job.”
A new job hasn’t been the only thing on Ashley’s plate lately. In December, she graduated with honors from Texas State University with a bachelor’s degree in education. She also began planning her November 2012 wedding to fiancé, Bill Heese. There was one problem – she was in her native Austin, Texas, and Bill was in the St. Louis area. Luckily, word circulated through Bill’s insurance and financial services firm that Caravus was seeking a new consultant. Ashley applied, interviewed, and moved two weeks later to work for us!
With Ashley’s addition, our Individual Market Team continues to grow.
“The individual market has grown tremendously over the last three years,” Katie said. “In the near-term, Ashley will provide service to existing clients and participate in converting prospects into clients. The long-term vision will be for her to evolve into an individual market representative that is capable of focusing on the under 65 year old individual market. My long term focus will be on the senior (over 65) business segment. As the individual market business continues to grow, we will be able to add support for our existing client base because we must always keep client service a top priority.”
For Ashley, the move to the insurance field was a surprise but not completely out of the realm of possibility.
“My dad has been in the insurance industry for 26 years – property and casualty, life insurance and annuities. And my fiancé is a financial representative,” she said.
A great work ethic and organizational skills have Ashley well on her way to sliding easily into the role of Individual Market Consultant. In a very short amount of time, Ashley has demonstrated an ability to learn through observation and then doing a task on her own, according to Katie.
“Individual market clients each have unique needs, so the training can’t be achieved through simply reading a manual,” Katie said. “Due to existing relationships… she is already receiving client referrals, which is great. She is able to know when to work on her own and when to ask for help.”
On a Personal Note…
Ashley is a classically trained pianist and has been playing for 19 years. In addition, she is very involved with her church’s youth group. Ashley is also ready to find out more about her new hometown.
“I’m looking forward to developing relationships,” she said, “and experiencing St. Louis."
Welcome Ashley!
