New Parent Is Quickly Enrolled In Group Plan After Loss Of State Coverage
The Client
Medium-sized employer in the Education Industry
The Challenge
After enrolling their new child in Medicaid promptly after the baby’s birth, an employee and their 3-month-old child lost their coverage state coverage. They struggled to get any answers after hours on the phone with Medicaid, but it was discovered that the state took too long to process the qualifying event - so they ended up terming the family’s coverage. Their child needed to go to the doctor, and they were concerned because without insurance, they could not make an appointment.
The Solution
The Caravus Eligibility team worked closely with the employee, the group’s insurance carriers, and the state Medicaid office, and was able to find the employee coverage that same day.
The Outcome
The employee was able to take their baby to the doctor the same day with their new insurance. They were incredibly grateful!
